Furniture retailer Lewis says 9-month revenue up 10 pct

South African furniture retailer Lewis said on Monday revenue growth for the quarter ended January 5 rose 8 percent and the cumulative revenue growth for the 9 months jumped 10 percent.

Merchandise sales for the quarter increased by 2 percent with cumulative sales growth for the 9 months up 5 percent, Lewsis said in a statement.

The overall condition of the debtors book as measured by the doubtful debt provision is 14 percent of net debtors compared to 15 percent last year, the firm said.

Lewis will announce annual results on Monday 19 May 2008. Reuters
