German May Import Prices Up 0.6% On Year, Export Prices Rise 1.8%

(RTTNews) - German import prices recorded 0.6% annual growth in May, the Federal Statistical Office said Tuesday. This compares to 0.5% increase in April and 0.9% rise in March. The index, excluding crude oil and mineral products, gained 1.3%. On a monthly basis, import prices climbed 0.3%, smaller than 0.9% last month. The import price growth for May came in line with economists’ expectations.

The export price index rose at a slower pace of 1.8% annually compared to 1.9% in April. Compared to last month, export prices moved up 0.2%.
